Atoms are made of protons, neutrons and electrons. Quark is a fresh, creamy-style cheese. A quark is a tiny particle which makes up protons and neutrons. Homemade quark, a creamy German cheese, is easy to make at home using 2 simple ingredients. (Also, for each of these quarks, there is a corresponding antiquark.)

There are six quarks, but physicists usually talk about them in terms of three pairs: up/down, charm/strange, and top/bottom. Quarks are one type of matter particle.
