The problem here with swearing is that it is so highly offensive and vulgar sounding to so many people (this is most likely--and often the sin). With our mouth’s we worship the Lord daily. Either way, I’m really and truly terrible for being foul-mouthed although, in general, I don’t believe myself to be guilty of sin — not mortal sin, by any measure. One of those things was the profane language I often used. A curse, the encyclopedia provides, can be a general curse for ill-fate or could involve the weather, earth, and disasters. Im sure most people that curse don’t literally mean what the curse means. Having said that, it’s important to realise that things things we listen to and watch affect us - just in the same way as the people that we have contact with affect us too. As far as i know there is also filthy langague mentioned in the bible. Who decided that we should say poo, ... really no different than if a lizard were to hear … Im sure most people that curse don’t literally mean what the curse means. Every time I hear a reference to the power of our words or a verse about keeping your mouth in check, I think of that slimy, pink tongue. Think about it! I don’t know but from what i’ve read cursing is a sin if you curse others. If you heard it in a song and quickly changed the channel…what do you think?
