No, not really. I purchased Mage Knight for a few reasons. I don't really care for the Volkare Scenarios. Mage Knight is a complex board game with deck building and RPG elements where every turn feels like a puzzle full of challenges and meaningful choices. So far, I have around 20 hours of gameplay under my belt, but I have still only scratched the surface of this majestic game. It has a Mage Knight module which emulates all the cards and pieces from the base game (no Volkare, alas).
My Mage Knight games are generally very friendly.
