In my opinion,, the Hornady factory ammo is probably the best you can buy. Mag. has anybody ever killed an elk with a 243 and can share anything about the kill. 308 for elk is a good caliber for this type of gun. One of the best elk guns is KIMBER MODEL 84M CLASSIC.
